Timothy
Mason is a cultural consultant with substantial experience of the arts
& heritage and urban regeneration. From 1995 to 2000 he was
Director of the Museums & Galleries Commission and prior to that
Chief Executive of the London Arts Board. He has been the Director
of the Scottish Arts Council and of the Western Australian Arts
Council. He has had extensive professional engagements abroad
including in Western and Eastern Europe, Canada, United
States, New Zealand,
Australia, Hong Kong, Barbados,
Singapore, Argentina, Brazil,
Ecuador, Armenia, Azerbaijan,
Georgia and Ukraine.

He is currently a member of the General Council,
Commonwealth Association of Museums and of ICOM’s Committee for
International Committees. He is a
Governor of King’s College Hospital, London.

|
Earlier in his career Tim
Mason worked in the administration of the performing arts including the
Royal Exchange, Manchester,
Ballet Rambert, the Actors Company, the World
Theatre Season and the Oxford Playhouse.
He was the author of the first editions of Care, Diligence & Skill, a
handbook for the Boards of arts organisations.
